What a fantastic week at school!

Last week our elementary students had the opportunity to attend a play at SOSU, bringing learning to life in a fun and engaging way.

We also took a step back in time with a visit to Fort Washita, where middle school students explored local history and made meaningful connections to what they’ve been learning in the classroom.

We celebrated our Student of the Month and Top Readers during our monthly assembly—congratulations to all of our outstanding students for their hard work and achievements!

To wrap up the week, we enjoyed a fun-filled egg hunt that brought smiles and excitement to everyone involved.

We are so proud of our students and all they continue to accomplish!

Last fall, Mr. Cook attended an OERB workshop where he received a Fossil Fuels Curriculum Kit to use in his classroom. Through these lessons, he was able to teach his students about Oklahoma’s Oil Industry and land in a fun, hands on way. Each year, the OERB program hosts a statewide poster contest, and this year Anslee Cook was inspired to participate after learning through her classroom activities.

A few weeks later, we were excited to learn that Anslee’s artwork had been selected as an honorable mention, earning her an invitation to be recognized at the Oklahoma State Capitol. There were over 1,600 entries statewide, including more than 700 in her 3rd-6th grade division. Out of all of those entries, Anslee was one of just twelve students honored and awarded from her age group.

Her artwork, along with the other winners, will be featured in the upcoming OERB calendar. We are so proud of her!

Two of our 4-H and FFA Eagles showed pigs at the state level at Oklahoma Youth Expo over spring break. We are proud of Paisley Dean and Braden Green who worked hard and gave up part of their break to represent Milburn. It's always a fun time at OYE.

Last post for the 2026 Johnston County Livestock Show. This year a new division for Broiler Chickens was added to the show. Exhibitors purchased ten broiler chicks and competed to see who could feed and raise the best meat chickens. Each exhibitor selected three birds to show as their entry. Members representing Milburn FFA and 4-H were Paislea Flowers and Kendall Dean. Kendall placed second in his class.
